Swamp Wolf OP trapper S Joined: Apr 2009 Posts: 12,317 South Ga - Almost Florida	25 year old neice (that my wife and I raised) was involved in a crash yesterday. A truck ran stop sign or pulled out in front of her. She was likely travelling at least 55 mph when she hit the truck. She is in ICU. Abdominal injuries, multiple fractures, and lacerations. Already underwent one surgery with more to follow on her abdomen. Gonna be in hospital about a month. She was wearing seat belt and air bags deployed...which together saved her life, but she still received facial skull and spine fractures. The lower seat belt was the cause of the abdominal injuries, but that was the tradeoff for survival. Wife was notified of the crash by a local. She immediately drove to the scene (a mile from our home) and observed neices' car with a sheet draped over back half the car. She lost it and barely made it back home to call me. Our sheriff was sitting on the ground behing the car with our neice, using the sheet for shade & waiting on the ambulance to arrive. My wife couldn't see that from where she turned around and drove away. God has blessed her and us by saving her life, but she has a long recovery road ahead of her.
