Be careful when using Zaggers method. I put a trap on a pond dam and it was getting close to pull day and figured I’d start pulling the ones that hadn’t produced to cut back on the numbers on actual pull day. I could not find the set, lol. I figured on pull day I’d get the others and come back to this one when I had more time. The next check I pull on the dam and get near the corner and notice a critter dancing. Turns out is was a bobcat that apparently hadn’t been caught long cause there wasn’t a catch circle that was noticeable. Good news is I found the set, lol. That set had been there for 2 weeks and 6 days.

When using the screen pan cover, how do you set on your trap? Inside the jaws or on the jaws? I always worry that if an animal steps on the edge of the screen and it tips up it will spook them. Or am I worried about something I shouldn’t be worried about?

If you have that screen tight against the jaws, if he steps on the screen then he’s caught.

I think Mark Zagger has a video on doing the screen. It needs to fit correctly and be under the jaws.

Works very well, but takes some practice to get right.

And yes, I've had them sit for 3 weeks in wet conditions and find a coyote dancing around.
