Got a call from a customer about beavers coming up from the neighbors pond with 2 lodges and blocked up two culverts and make a huge pond.

I went in and set the dam, first night caught the beading pair, 51.7 female and 47.6 lb male. [Linked Image]

I then began to break the dam and started to set spill way sets. Only managed to have one juvenile male 23.1 lbs come up to investigate. [Linked Image]

Went 5 days without any new sign, tracks, building, or sight of beaver after. Slowly breaking the dam stream by stream, 7 total breaks, and 6 hours of hand pulling later but it’s done.

I wasn’t there to take every beaver, but I did start out with the thought I read on here that you’re just trying to resolve the problem, not the beavers themselves.

Had a fun time though [Linked Image]

I figured someone on here could answer that for me. It was a #3 bridger cs on a drowner on that foot. Would the wire on the drowner do that to em?

ADC job, rubbed or not. Dead is dead. Summer time trapping. Doesn't take long.

I’ve seen hair pulled on the legs when they get twisted up but never seen it like that. I wasn’t sure if it was a bit or something that got infected and healed or what.

Go back and check it in a couple weeks to be sure you got all the beaver.

Yeah I told the property owner that it’s going to be a long term maintenance of the property and he’s looking to sell the property soon. He just wants to be able to use that walkway back to the rest of his property before he sells. He’s aware this isn’t a permanent fix and come fall the latest he should have the problem again and he understands. Not about whipping out the population just regulating the problem beaver.

So got called back, landowner said there’s a new dam being built over the culvert again. Went there last night to do a site inspection and walked up on two younger beavers currently working on the dam. Set up one two established slides with footholds and put in two castor mounds. Find a hidden culvert that they’re using as an underground passage and set a 330. One of the last overfill streams I put a break in it and set two 330s as they were swimming around the area working on that patch as I was setting the footholds. Came back this morning to find them both, stick in mouth, fixing that break I put in. [Linked Image]

I sure hope that I don't get a call about the job I just did, lol. Did the beaver part of the job end of march, middle of April I busted a hole in a couple dams, no repair through the end of June so my son and I cleared the dams that the landowner wanted removed. Only thing they've called to ask was if these giant crayfish will eat their fish, hahaha... My son and I saw some big ones we were evicting from the dam area, but the land owner caught one and took a picture next to a ruler, darn thing was 5 inches long and that's with the tail partially folded under!

This landowner has three small streams that fed into a culvert and an overflow stream to another culvert. The first time I was there I counted over a dozen 1lb plus bass, and there are rainbow trout running around in there too. Blew my mind what can be in there due to just an extre two feet of water

Cletus sounds like the otter would/should be in that body of water to clean them up!
