No the delta very rarely burns and when it does it does not go very far. Most of our natural disasters are floods.

No trees down there I might have to bring some driftwood down to build WHITE17 snare polls!
So much wind down on the Yukon North Slope Il have to put it really high or a snow drift will just form underneath it.

When I lived around Nome we tried shoving a 2x4 into the snow out in the open and wiring a bucket with a 330 in the opening to the 2x4. Maybe only tried once and didn't catch anything. There was some risk of theft around there.

I saw that from trappers in Nunavut. I may try that. But I think I'll use drift wood 2x4 are expensive up here. Almost the same as a 330.

Here is a set you might consider making and hauling into the area. Set with the open end on the downwind side and maybe a couple of drift logs out to the side for wind breaks.

Are they easy to neck snare?
I imagine a body snared wolverine would wreck itself.
A fisher will wreck itself even when necksnared.

A body snared wolverine is likely to not be there when you arrive. They ARE pretty easy to snare but you need them to die quickly. Might be able to construct a spot where a power ram would work

White 17 snare pole caught. Hard to get the right size poles and enough height to keep them off the ground in Nome area.

You can knock snare them but like White 17 said you need them to die quickly or they will chew out. If you get a moose in a willowy creek it's good to set up snares round the guts. They entangle right up. But a330 ot 280 is the best way to get a wolverine. Usually stone dead without even stretching out the anchor line.

Here to is like that on my line below the Richardson's the trees and bush get thick and would be good for White17 sets. But no wood around PcL camp unless it drifted there or you brought it some willow bars but not thick enough to support a snare pole.
