Probably a bunch of Leftist weenies. They started a bunch of fires in Commiefornia a few years back. All so they could blame "Global warming"

A lot of times it’s previous lightening strikes that smolder until the wind comes up in just the right direction.

Never know…..,,

Smoke before the invasion is my guess a common tactic before an assault starts. crazy

I am not saying it is or isn't but remember when Australia was going up in flames January of 2020 and they were able to determine 50% or more of those fires were arson

and they arrested around 200 people for arson

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

I believe they have the technology to map lightning strikes, should be able to determine fairly easily if there were indeed lightning strikes in those areas prior to those fires. One things for sure, theres a lot of money surrounding wildfires and a lot of incentive for arsonists...hope thats not the case up there.

This. Fires start from dry lightning strikes during a heatwave, when a smaller, insubstantial low-pressure system with thunderstorms passes over an area. It may take a couple of days for the fires to show on the satellite tracking system, because fire doesn't spread fast in low atmospheric pressure, and speeds up drastically when the pressure goes up. Sometimes they show up the next day, because forest fires slow down at night. This is why it appears as if several fires start simultaneously on a clear day along the course of the thunderstorm that caused it.

Sometimes we had one helicopter deploy several firefighter groups 5-20 miles apart.

Don't know much about Canada other than it supposedly has lots of empty space. I guess they must've air dropped all those arsonists.

But a weather event fanning up small preexisting fires does make sense to me more than arson.

In the far north they dont fight forest fires.Just let them burn.
Just what has been going on since time immemorial

X2, but try and convince climate change alarmist that this has been going on , “ since time immemorial.”

Makes total sense no?

Give the Canadian government some credit. If you own a fly in camp or bush camp they do try and get help in there with pumps and gear to save the dwellings.

Osky and Tatiana correct. Lightning can fester in the ground for up to 3 days after initial strikes. We were always watching that 72 hour window after lightning moved through.

Boco right too. Here in the north we let most fires burn themselves out as they have done for since beginning of time. We only intervene when life and property are at risk. Big thing is what we called "initial attack" i.e. kill it quick before it becomes a monster. Need the physical resources and smart people then + a bit of luck to get that right. Not everyone was cut out to do it.

Worked fires for 15 years everything from ground grunt on up to a dozen water bombers and choppers and over 100 people under me.

That is correct Osky, many trapping cabins have been saved by MNR fire crews setting up sprinkler systems to protect them during fires, when they have the resources to do so.
Almost all trapping camps are located on rivers or lakes so that helps a bit.

Ive seen it often Boco.

Like Cross.. says Ive seen where lightning strikes during storms smoldered because of the rain, then after a few days to dry, the protected embers start up again on the right wind.

Not sure what the guy is smoking, but my guess is he has inhaled too much before he started his broadcast....

FYI, there are 142 forest fires currently burning in the Province of Québec... the whole Province is burning...too funny.

I don't know about Canada, but most of the reason for catastrophic wildfires in the west is due to too good of wildfire suppression for the past 100 years. Fires were a natural and recurring thing all across the west in the past. Just look at pictures taken during the late 1800's of places such as the Black Hills, or anywhere else in the west. There was way less forest land back then than now. We now have millions of acres of kindling just waiting for a spark.

In many northern areas there are no access routes so when fires are burning for miles it is extremely difficult to keep them under control...to the best of my knowledge, we have not lost any firefighters but many are pushing the limits to protect communities.

No doubts, we need to re-think how we manage our natural resources.
