I believe I have used the black each time. It does take a long time to dry even out here in the less humid West. I use the dip when it I know is going to be at least 90 degrees and sunny for a few days. Even then, after one week the dye on the trap can be still a little tacky. This is a down side of Speed Dip. Maybe the Brown Dip would dry faster. Does the Brown dip get the trap as dark as the Black dip?[/quote]

The left pic is brown speed dip upper right dyed and lower right is rust oleum.

I've used it successfully in the past, I just like the smell of a wood fire and logwood dye on a crisp autumn morning. Then a few beers while waxing in the evening makes for a fine day. Hard to overlook the traditional method.

I mixed it 1 can to 3 cans Coleman fuel early summer last year. Worked ok, but yea, long time to dry. Some were still tacky in October, but at least they were 330s that were going to be in the water. I tried Pro dip a couple weeks ago. Nothing wrong with that stuff. Mixed 1 jug with 2 jugs water.

I package a product to remove speed dip. just add to water and simmer. PM me for complete instructions.
