How many people on here ( non-professionals ) do their own pest control ?

I always have the sugar/borax ant traps out during the warmer months. Just recently got diatomaceous earth and dusted as a preventive measure inside the house and today got some pheromone based glue traps for clothes/pantry moths. Have also used a general granular pesticide put on the lawn to cut down on ticks and other pests.

I don't really have any big bug problems , just getting ahead of things before they become a problem.

Who else here does their own pest control and do you have any good tips or other advice ?

That is where I got my stuff. Cheaper too.

do all my own. buy what I need at farm store . several foundation sprays a year for ants - and borax baits.

Got quite a few hives of bees so I really dont want anyone else spraying around here and never use dusts

I forgot to mention , I set up flystrips in the shop where I work. We have the doors open a lot for ventilation during the warmer months. I hung them near windows and light fixtures. Very old school , but they work.

I use the Permethrin around my foundation , doors , windows , sometimes inside on baseboards.

when my wife worked at the co-op I even went and sprayed there a few times , old concrete floor with carpet over it and the ants would come through the cracks

spray on a Friday at close and they would vacuum up all the dead ants Monday

I have used other sprays over the years , this seems to work and it is ceap

the orkin man can get a few things you can't but there is a limit to what they can spray in a house or office also

the sprayers that go on the hose and you treat around your house and lawn seem to work well at reducing mosquitos and small flying stuff it is a form of permethrin also at 8-9 dollars to treat 5000sqft outdoors and it only takes 15 minutes or so easy savings

I use fly traps about 50-75 feet away from the house hanging in trees to significantly reduce the fly population

I always swat my own mosquitos.

Growing up on a farm , learned pest control early.
I've never needed anyone's help.

I run some gopher poison for the mice and bushy tailed rats

Set a couple of fly traps in the summer

stomp a few scorpions every year

Pellet gun a few jacks

I do, but sparingly, and only when necessary, not a fan of spraying poison all over the yard...

I do inside and out. Moles give me fits

I spray Bifen on the house foundation. Seems to work well.
