I still have hope. It has been a great saw and I really don't want to replace it

It’s not getting air. Something is restricted. Either heat from running a minute ore it’s using what seeps in with not running. I’d have tree it down hard a couple times by now lol

I threw my new husky off in the brush twice yesterday and had the wife pray over it. No-go. Still a work in progress. Have to have a special tool to adjust High and Low speed mixture screws. I guess those $7 tools are too expensive to come with the saw.

My helpers new Stihl has no carb adjust.
And it's not auto tune. Never saw anything like it.

Aren’t rebuild kits dirt cheap? If you need one.

If they make them for that model. They don't make them for all models.

1. Starts back up - spark is good and no electrical issues, It must also have compression

2. It sputters like it has no fuel and spark plug is dry. That makes it a definet lack of fuel. (I don't belive this model has a fuel cap that was a known issue, and you proved that good) You've also verified the fuel line isn't broken in the tank.

3. You said the filter was ugly and somewhat gone. Open up the carb and you will find a small mesh screen in there that filters the gas. I would bet money the missing parts of the filter are plugging this screen.

OK here are the results of today's efforts. Some good some not so good.

Compression: 130 psi cold, 110 psi hot.

Put in a new plug and everything acted the same. Spark is fine IMO.

Pulled the carb off and disassembled that. AHA !!

On the bottom side........the impulse line side...........there was a tiny screen that I missed seeing before. It was about a quarter inch in diameter and about a quarter inch recessed into the body of the carb. It was packed solid with some brown, granular soft stuff. Sort of like super fine sawdust but it looked too uniform.

I cleaned that all out and was able to blow air through all orifices.

Took the top side apart and there was some sawdust between the cover and membrane. Under the membrane was clean. Blew air through that side too and had bubbles and fuel coming up around the needle so all seems to be right at that point.

Put it back together and fired it up. Idles great. Tried to add some throttle and gained maybe a 1000 rpms and it wants to bog down but continues running if I let off the throttle.

At this point I am pretty well convinced it is a crack in the impulse line that I can't see. I think that is where the detritus in that screen is coming from. It was on the outside of that screen so it can't have come from the fuel tank. Must be fine sawdust being sucked through on the vacuum stroke.

At least I think I know a little more than I did before

It may just need some carb adjusting. Over time it may have been adjusted a little here and there to compensate for the debris in that screen.

The fuel filters on the 032 were known to break down. Take the carb off and check the inlet filter screen in the carb. It will be a small round screen pressed into the fuel inlet port. What was once part of your fuel filter will be plugging up this screen. Clean every port in the carb with carb cleaner and lightly blow them out. You can get carb kits for these carburetors at any Stihl dealer, but they will be a lot cheaper from ebay. Does it have a Tillotson carb on it? When you put the jets back in screw them in until the bottom out lightly. Turn them both out 1-1/4 turn back out. This will get you close. Be careful on the high side. You don't want to lean it out too much.

Did you ever figure it out?

Things could be worse.

"Does your Husqvarna carburetor need adjusting, but you cannot find the adjustment tool of the same brand? You are not the only one having this problem.

Due to federal and state regulations, Husqvarna has no permission to make carburetor adjustment tools available to the public. But let our team share the marketplaces we discovered where you could find the adjustment tools for a Husqvarna carburetor."
