Watching Naked and Afraid they snared a skunk did not know they had skunks outside of North America.

Take the glands out without spilling any and raw skunk meat smells lots better than muskrat. BTW never tried either one but never starved before. I like to believe I am a better hunter than needing to eat skunk but I suspect it tastes ok.

Skunk meat, as Danny has said, with the glands carefully taken out, is very good. The name "Chicago", believe it or not, is named after skunks, because it was a place the local Native Americans went to kill skunks to eat. Alternately, I've also read that "Chicago" was a place they harvested a plant to eat that smelled like skunk. Either way, it's probably a fitting history for Chicago.

My understanding Chicago’s name came from the “onion smell” origin is what I’ve heard and the place still stinks today!
