Went out for a early am ride and noticed how little traffic was on the roads and the village was like a ghost town...it's a sign that our economy is dependent on the Govt. Not a good sign at all

Just go ahead and make it everyday of the year...No one besides them gives a flip.

Same with the sexual deviants, or any other cry baby group.... Just call it anything but "whitey year" and it's all good with them.

It was never a national thing until an event a few years ago. It was a local holiday.

Got a million things i need to be doing BUT got the day off so here i sit! Had no clue what it even was till last week!

That's right SNIPERBBB, It's just becoming readily apparent they want attention 365 24/7.

It just makes people resent the constant barrage, and the government loves the distraction.

This is a illegal holiday.

Yet, Tyler Perry Studios is working a full crew today.

Only good thing about today is triple time at work?

as far as holidays go June-Teenth is one worth celebrating for the fact that Americans went around and freed other Americans

it is black soldiers who fought in the war between the states going through and freeing their brothers and sisters from slavery carrying out the emancipation proclamation on their own, not waiting for some white general to come and do it for them.

if you want something done you need to do it yourself

now a good celebration of Juneteenth would then be people taking the day to help other people in their families and comunities , a day of service to others , get togethers where maybe you go clean up some yards of the elderly and then have them over for a cookout

promoting self sufficiency from government and corporation alike and promoting strong community.


now it is a some what wasted holiday as it seems to be only government employees , banks and post office closed. most of the people who should be celebrating are likely working.

it is certainly no worse a holiday Monday than presidents day or Columbus day.

Anyone want to guess what Presidents Day originally was?

I liked no traffic driving to work.

I would really prefer they stopped shooting at each other at their BBQs. Bad press for guns (and now the media is calling gang-like shootings Mass Shootings).

Otherwise, too many special days and months. We should have true National Holidays.

Lot of blacks fought for the confederacy too but don't let history get in the way of anything now days.

No idea why we all can't just be AMERICANS, not this group or that group. Doesn't matter anyway, China will have enough Mexican labor when they take over they won't need any whites or blacks and can get rid of racial strife in this country once and for all.

Seemed the traffic was like every day around here this morning, nothing unusual.

Just stopped and got a sandwich for lunch, I told the girl working the window “happy Juneteenth”. She looked at and said, “What’s that?” lol
