June 19 happens to be the day I got married......several decades ago. This year and last is first time I can remember this event overlapping. Never heard of it before, and would submit 90% plus have no clue what it even "celebrates", if you can call it that.

What this looks to me like is a "jump the shark" moment for democrat party. Like reparations, one more ill conceived effort to try to maintain grip / control over a traditional party constituency that is wising up to the fact they been had. First it was BLDM. Now in big cities, crime goes unpunished and thugs allowed to run wild.

Reminds me of a parent or grandparent trying to buy favor and approval of a spoiled child. Keep lavishing unwarranted gifts upon the kid to buy their approval.....but that usually backfires as spoiled brat just spins out of control. Not only does parent and brat have to deal with repercussions, but failed actions often witnessed by others..........and never in a good light.

It’s actually the equivalent of erecting statues of Confederate Generals. It’s to make peace with losers.

When is Irish Day and Founding White Country day.

Texas was not even part of America at that time. They didn't rejoin the union until March of 1870, so it's stupid to celebrate what at best should be a state holiday, at a federal level. The purpose of this holiday is to keep an old wound open.

The so called "Leaders" of this country preach to us about NO segregation. But at the same time they designate months and holidays for all these "Non White " races.!!??????? Think about that.. If we are to be equal, let's stop celebrating special race holidays and months. JMO

I am an old guy so I do not understand what we are celebrating. Just from my 70 plus years experience I wonder? Is it?; Drive by shooting, car jacking, looting, organized mass shop lifting, gangs, a culture of crime and violence, riots,drug use, theft, multi generations of never even applying for a job, kids that do not know who their father is, thinking that others owe them something? Maybe I need "sensitivity training" so I can understand?

Soon there will be a holiday honoring Transgenders.

That's coming to a neighborhood near you!
