Need a new boot for pheasant hunting. Im done with leaky Danners that I get a year maybe 2 out of, even though they are pretty comfortable. Anyone have any experience with them? Online reviews are good, but mixed regarding the tongue being huge and causing pain.

I've been wearing Thorogoods for years. Best work boot on the market IMO. American made. Moccasin toed wedge sole 1/2 boots mostly but the same boot in 8 inch also.
These were for work mainly and are not waterproof. In fact those wedge soles will soak up water like a sponge. For wet weather hunting I wear Bean's Maine Hunting Shoe or Sorrels so it doesn't matter to me if they are waterproof or not. Those Flyways look identical to mine but have a different sole.

One pair I had resoled 4 times, got around 10 years out of them before the uppers deteriorated. Never had boot last like these and very comfortable. I'm wearing a pair right now.
I've never had a problem with the tongues even on the high tops. Train the tongues when they are brand new and they will develop a 'memory' for the life of the boot.

Depending on where you buy them, you'll spend 200 bucks +- for a pair. Worth every penny IMO.

Wear Thorogoods steel toe everyday. Haven’t tried the flyways.
