Of course you can not compare dogs to people But a pet can be a soul mate too many
of us .. under very easy situations . At age 39 (I ) owned an English Springer Spaniel (Jack)Due to several major health issues I needed to give his rightgful rest But I had spent 33 %of my life with him by my side I still sometimes tear up thinking about him .

Me, my sister, and mother were at my dads bed when he passed. He was starting to suffer with dementia when covid got him. It was the right choice to turn off his machines. I told him I would take care of my mother and he squeezed my hand. I have no doubt if he were able he would have made that choice. It was a bad day watching him die but I am glad we were with him. I am glad the dementia didnt take him either. That would have taken years.

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)
