This part of the US is comprised of huge tracts of industrial timberlands owned by large lumber and paper companies. The hunting rights are leased to hundreds of individual groups. Some leases are large (20,000 acres)..others are just a few hundred acres. Folks don't beg for hunting permission....they bid for it. Once secured ..the same group may lease it for decades. Very little public land here....No king or queen land....we have to pay to hunt. It's not FREE like you Canadians enjoy. And you call us beggars...lol

The hunters are not beggars or thieves. Many leases here are large deer hound leases. And, when they lease the hunting rights they sign a contract. Mess with the company's loggers, reforestation operators, or contract trappers and that's it....you're out.

This dont happen often, but when it has...the company has dealt with it swiftly. Twice, in the past 20 years, I've had a coyote shot in my traps by hunt club member, while I was being paid for predator control. The leasors were advised ahead of time that a paid trapper would be doing PC. After each incident, the member was told by the company to remove his camper and other gear and vacate the property. The lease manager was told to ensure/escort that individual from the property or the lease would be cancelled.

So if everything is so hunky dory why are you worried that your sign will lead to the theft of your traps?
Like I said,sounds like those that have to buy permission to hunt from the king are theives in their own right.

I called the signs by that name because most trappers would expect them to be just that.

King as in every American is his own king with the right to own his own land and control it as he sees fit. Even leasing out access to it.
