Had plumber out twice. Once back on Dec with snake for sewer pipe, tree roots an slow drain. Didn't do camera an trouble get thru way out. Drain good for week. Then same trouble. So ask him an quote ridiculous price just for camera an call another plumber. He say use tree root kill. I had trouble yrs back. So I did an slow drain for 6 wks, the old clay tile damage cracks from roots an sewer water when run washer would come out foundation different places in cellar like when rain hard an by pipe where go out wall. So one day it totally plug.i call first plumber an came out with hydrojet an 2 men an camera, it was dirty as plug bad an ran out many gallons as try unclog in well below cap an I had scoop out in 5 gallon bucket an dump yard an barely keep up from over flow well . An later I take up dry an threw garbage . So 92 ft line an roots every section an cracks am trouble like last time about 75 ft out with camera . They didn't get all roots out but enough an the blade got caught 15 ft from start an finally free it from crack . Not a problem since . Hydrojet like air pressure hose with hi pressure jet water an blade on it. It has cracks. Anyone know what chance collapse line is ? Or what cause it ? Thunderstorm an water come foundation by pipe bfore . I run root killer down it every 5 weeks an heap cup sat salt twice a week in hope kill any tree roots , price replacement or reline is astronomical , I have had no leakage problems since Feb with hydrojet an root kill if helps at all. But concern about what chance collapse is? I think crack in bottom when blade caught but there are ctaclsan lots from roots. The whole ordeal with different chemicals I bought an plumber was over $1200. Plumber was $1050 plus for twice , first time $280

Time is not your friend when dealing with clay tile pipe. Once the roots find the delicious gravy located in the pipe they take up residence and never want to depart. Then more tree roots come from other trees and join the party. If hiring a drain cleaning specialist once a year is affordable you can go that route but IMO you are just delaying the inevitable.

Hey CoonMan 220.
Do you ever read/respond too other people's posts or just come here to express your problems?

Like Danny said replace the whole line. It may be an expensive deal, but in the long run it's going to be cheaper then having them come out constantly to unclog it. Eventually it's going to totally fail and then you'll be in a world of poop. Figuratively and literally.
I don't recommend you trying to dig it up yourself. There's too many lines buried anymore. You bust a gas or water line in your digging and you'll be paying a ton of money to fix all that.

If you own a shovel, all you have to buy is some pipe and glue. Good luck! Just takes time.
