A 10.5" is a nice one anywhere. Anything over 8" is a nice eating size, IMO.

The first bottles of Coca Cola contained 3.5 grams of cocaine. That's how our grandparents were able to walk to school uphill both ways in the snow.

Pics on the water on the northern prairie can be very deceiving, pics are on a ND lake.

Yes they are nice ones. Years ago myself and two of my brothers would catch a batch of gills, with new baby red spuds, coleslaw and fresh peas!! Those were some really good meals.

I have caught scads of shellcrackers over a pound, some up to 2 1/2 pounds, but I have never caught a bluegill over a pound.
It is on my bucket list. I need to fish more. They don't hardly ever swim by my couch. smile

A little advertising for the southeast> Alabama and florida have produced some record size bream. I have fished Merrits Mill Pond many years ago, but never caught any record sized fish. I hear that it has changed a lot since then.

Alabama record bluegill

Those are jumbos very nice! I go to a remote spot and have fun catching them on fly rod. I hardly ever use a spin cast any more everything is fly rod fishing.

I kept some the other day for a nice lunch. Remove head and gut them than on the grill for a very short time. [Linked Image]
