Have any of you bought a vehicle from Copart? They have well over 300,000 vehicles in inventory, that they auction off. They have a huge number of locations. They have well over 6000 cars in just Columbus, Ohio. They auction mostly bank repossessions, cars that were in accidents, cars that were recovered from being stolen, retired fleet cars and retired rental cars. They mostly sell to dealers, but will sell to others for an additional fee. The prices vehicles are going for there are much cheaper than what dealers and eeven private parties are selling cars for.

I have, bought a 99 Honda civic for $600, it was in great shape other than a light front end hit. I'm guessing mine came from a dealer that didn't want it on their lot.

You need to look at stuff in person, people absolutely cover up damage. The fees really add up, make sure you have a full understanding of what it will cost.

Even if you win the auction it doesn't always mean you win the car, many sellers have reserves. They may shoot you a offer after the auction, you can then send a counter offer if you choose until a price is reached. You don't have to raise your offer, you can counter at the original number you won the auction at.
