What other carry conceal is good to have that not take up much to.on ur person an easy get at? Buy handgun for protection is out my budget an I can't see myself carry a gun around unless small an conceal an actually use it. I can't see happen easily. I usually byself lot an on wesdsy nite I stop local.convience store an gas up ..so I notice same local drinks get beer hangout as seen before with cpl others in past . The clerk is no better. One my most u favorite places gas up is in town I live in out all places . I pretty sure he set me up Tonite with them as stop in at same time wesday nite for long time an fill up . It to much concidence. It was dead Tonite an all sudden someone pull up. Witness or I think they gonna start stuff. Clerk very rude

You can always carry a padlock tied up in a do rag...slip it in your back pocket with the tail of the do rag hanging out a touch...for quick access.

Dave, there are some bad people out there, but from reading many of your posts, over years now, I know that you have an unhealthy and unreasonable fear of being harmed by others. You are one of the very, very few people I would advise not to carry a weapon. I think you would be likely to overreact and use a weapon in a situation you should not and face serious legal repercussions afterwards.

I can save 30 cents a gallon filling up in St. Louis by choice I fill up in rural Illinois and like I will tell anyone if I get 20 gallons of gas that’s 6 bucks if someone sticks a knife in my back I have a heck of a lot more than 6 bucks worth of trouble, point is like ADC says go elsewhere.

That crazy that corporation can charge ur debit card $100 plus for days. Gas up full twice a week an have $100 out ur acct at all times . What is idea behind hold charge at pump ? CoonMan, go take some MMA classes and learn self defense. Sometimes you can sign up for self defense lessons at your local YMCA. After a few months of that you should be able to open a can of whoop butt!

Dave, debit cards are not processed the same as credit cards The merchant puts a hold on the account for an excess amount of money to ensure they receive payment. First come first served, goes for payments too.

If your concerned about your safety:
1) vary your routine
2) shop where there is a better class of clientele
3) shop in the daylight
4) beware of your surroundings at all times.
5) nothing is more valuable than your life.

Nobody should have to deal with a rude or surly store clerk.

If he pulls that crap again you need to

or get BOCO to act as your body-guard

I HATE prepay gas even more than self service. Get a credit card. Pay at the pump. Get 2% back in rewards. Pay the bill COMPLETELY every month so you dont get charged interest. Dont even need to speak to the clerk. All the problems you post about can be solved by using that thing ontop your shoulders.

PS you dont even have to shoot somebody for being rude. Just waving a gun around, if you survive, will get you prison time

I use a debit card attached to my business checking account 100% of the time for gasoline purchases. I’ve never even heard of this “hold” you talk about. If I ever did encounter a gas station or company that wanted to do that, I would not do business with them.

I use my debit card to pay at the pump. I never go into the store/gas station to pay. The only reason I ever go in is if they are out of paper at the pump and I can’t get a receipt. Then I go in and make the clerk give me one.

As others above have said, start making better choices.

Even a can of hornet spray will work wonders for 15 feet. It's cheap and legal for all to possess.

Tie a good knot at the end of the dew rag so it doesn't slip out of your hand.

why are you out at night ?

maybe you need a gas can and funnel and not a weapon so you can get your fill up at home that you picked up 6 extra gallons on Sunday morning.
or just pick better times and places to fill up

if you asked me the safest time and place to gas up is at the Kwik Trip closest to the sheriffs office near morning shift change the place is crawling with Deputies and Jailers , nod and say morning.

that may not be the same for you but figure out a better place and time.

also you want to find a way to not need to go into the store , more contact than needed if you do need to gas up at night. some sort of credit or debit card , maybe a pre-pay.

you should look for the 2 Kwik Star Locations in DBQ and try visiting them , get that gas can and extend your range so you don't need shady stations late at night.

staying close to your truck , I would be telling a 16 year old girl the same thing the 2008 GMC Canyon has the gas door right behind the cab , passenger door locked , but your drivers door unlocked , see trouble get in and drive key stays on ring finger just the truck keys , house key stays in pocket or purse.
keep aware of surroundings , duck back in truck if you think something is up. if you need it is a 2 ton weapon.

cash or card you decide before you exit the truck
how much you will be getting. if you know you need 20 in gas and you have to go in to put 20 on the pump then you take that 20 out and it goes in hand or front pocket into the store

you don't want to be looking through a bill-fold or purse at the pump or in the store

I give my daughters a Kwik Trip card , it slides in and out quick from the pump with a pin code only for KT and it is only good for gas and store purchases at Kwik Trip we have one in town and yes it is where the police fill up and get snacks and they always have a lot of cameras at Kwik trip as well as multiple employees all the time.
If I go during the day I likely see someone I know.
