One of the things I have found, is that trapping in particular appeals to the ADHD aspects of my brain more than anything else aside from business and finance. Why? Because in order to be a good trapper, it helps to be proficient in many other disciplines. Trapping is not just "trapping"... Water trapping - mink/muskrat or beaver? otter? While the basics apply to all, they aren't the same, the skill sets are distinct Land trapping - coyote? fox? marten/fisher? lynx? bobcat? weasel? - again, all different Raccoon - in my opinion needs a category all its own Traps? Snares? - setting, building, accessories, tools Staking? Drowning? Lures? Attractants? Blind Sets? Woodworking? Welding? Fur handling? Knives? Sharpening? Biology & Animal behavior? Fur vs. nuisance - seasonal vs summer? Guns? ammunition? Legislation
Every one of those subjects has represented a deep, obsessive rabbit hole LOL. Add to that the fact that you can drop subjects at will when you are disinterested in them and since you've developed that base knowledge, it doesn't effect your field performance... it's a perfect storm of a hobby.
Just happy to be here.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

When my two boys didn't pay attention in school,,they got the same medication I got when I didn't pay attention in school. Now one is a mechanical engineer for our local power company,,,,and the other is a design engineer for carrier corporation. They are too fast to prescribe meds for everything these days.
the wheels of the gods turn very slowly

I agree. It's much easier to prescribe something but the problem doesn't go away. I have to wonder to what correlation there is between prescription drug and mass shootings.

Diagnosed at 50. Meds were life changing for me.
I know lots of folks who have opinions one way or the other and that's fine.
If you feel like you need help, go seek help. Don't let someone on the internet stop you from trying to make a positive change in your life.
Telling someone with diabetes to manage it with lifestyle changes instead of insulin is about how it sounds to me. Amen, never be too proud for help
To a person ignorant of nature, his country stroll is a walk through a gallery filled with wonderful works of art with their faces turned to the wall
