I’m in the gout club. Quit drinking about 1.5 years ago and now I only get it every 3-4 months. I got a standing prescription for endomethazone. If it all of a sudden feels like I lightly stubbed my toe, I take one, sometimes another one 8 hours later and it’s gone. If I wait too long to take a pill, I gotta deal with it for 1-3 weeks. I ran out of pills last month and the doc gave me 5 steroid pills along with the normal ones. That worked quick over night, but they screw with your sleep, so take em in the morning. Booze is supposed to be bad for gout, but my dad would get it a couple times a year and he quit drinking in his early thirties. One doc told me it’s hereditary too.
It sucks! Ranks pretty high on the pain scale.

Listen came over yesterday and gave me some pills that helped him and between those, tart cherry extract cherry juice and Ibuprofen. I am doing well enough to get the corn picked and processed that the coons left me ..... then I'll hop on the tractor and run the brush hog through the corn patch to make " strategic " clear lanes in it and put a chair in my dump trailer and some shooting stick under the 223 WSSM tonight and take the game to them.

I just get a flare up occasionely , One or two endomethezen tablets , are enough to stop it I have a prescription, . It is caused by uric acid deposits setteling in a joint. indomethacin - is what I take for flare-ups as well, but since I started taking alopurinol I haven't had any bad flare-ups. I've been on it for close to 15 years. The reason to take it is to control the uric acid. It is destroying your joints even when its not flared up. What I thought was arthritis in my joints, even in my fingers was gout. Since taking the right medication the swelling and pain of all my joints has lessened and added movement to them. Your diet may decrease attacks but it won't keep gout from destroying your joints over time. My advice is see a doctor and not rely of home remedies. I suffered stupidly for a lot years before I could get my stubborn butt in there.

She’s got some zip. First time I shot mine (Win M70 Shadow with a pencil barrel) after zeroing was a little gopher shoot with a bud. Took maybe a dozen shots within 1-2 minutes and the groups opened up and never came back. Barrel was freakishly hot. It’d put a couple within 1moa but after that it’d open up to about 3.5”. Sold it with brass & dies and use a nice slow 223 now…lol

It has totally eliminated my constant gout attacks. None of the natural home remedies worked for me. Got it in big toe, ankles, whole foot, and knees. Was totally crippled before starting on allopurinol

Mine is a Browning A bolt in chrome lined stainless. When this barrel gives up I think I'll rebarrel it with a slightly heavier one in .25 WSSM making it the ballistic twin on the 267 Bob in a lightweight package deer and speed goat rifle. The 223 WSSM is not the sort of tool you want to go and hammer a prairie dog town with. After 3 rounds it needs some cool down time if you value your barrel life and good groups

What ADC said!!!!!!!!!
My uric acid was at the high end of the normal range and when I first had gout, I tried the NSAID and then the Steroid Pack and it would get better immediately but would would flare right back up at the end of the treatment dosage. Started taking allopurinol to reduce the uric acid level and the gout cleared up and has not come back.

It does not take long for gout to do permanent damage to the affected joints so it is nothing to play around with.

i think I'll go ADC route in the not to distant future and see a dock to prescribe me some of those things.
On a more positive note. I managed to can 66 quarts of corn and the admiral froze a bunch of whole cobs in freezer bags. And maybe the raccoons will leave us a few more on the stalk to eat as is. Tomorrow I'll run that bush hog over the back rows and make me some shooting lanes.

I had to literally crawl to the car to get to the doc before I was smart enough to go. I had it in both feet and about scream to just touch them on the ground. I'm guessing its my German bloodline that makes me so stubborn.
