PF, I'd go punch the seed store guy in the nutts!.

That sounds like a horrible " blend".
To late for peas, way to early for oats and 1% of anything is a huge waste of time/$

Blends seldom work.
Good idea on the white Dutch clover though. It usually does well on trails that are kinda shaded but they like damp soil.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

You have to remember that 1 out of 3 Democratic Voters is just as dumb as the other two.

I always wanted to grow some pumpkins in a food plot. I planted a few plants last year for the kids, but the deer ate all the pumpkins before the kids were ready to pick.

That said, I have been moving slowly towards more blends. It is a whole lot less work and you have fewer potential issues. I might just throw some pumpkin seeds in the mix next year. You lose a little of the pure attraction at specific times, but I am not sure I need it to accomplish my goals with it.

I will also say the apple trees are loaded this year. Lots of deer eating apples at all times of the day/night. [Linked Image]

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...it's about learning to dance in the rain!

Our orchard Is loaded again this year. But deer hardly ever work It till the ag crops are gone and they start running out of natural browse.

Thats interesting. Do you just have a pile of apples on the ground under the trees now?

Piles of apples?

Right now we have a few wind falls but 98% of the apples are still on the trees.

It's coming up. Looks like some of the peas stayed on top of the dirt or were uncovered by the rain.
I thought 1% was a joke also. Hopefully it will do something for the deer. I am almost in KY so a litle further south. If nothing else that patch will be easier to till next year.

The end twords the Camara with un even coverage is where my 13 year old seeded. I can see exactly where he and I meet. I worked from one side he from the other. I got a head start becus I sent him back to the house to get another bucket to put seed in so I didnover 2/3s of it on the side away from the Camara

A couple months later and all that green in background has added some height. Deer are bedding right in it.

Deer have moved on to some later maturing apples. All the early apples are gone. It didn’t stop a few deer from coming to check. Bucks, how do those pumpkins look?
