Since they don’t have another unionized truck in the state she would make a fortune!!! Be protected against crooked people asking for money but getting no return. Never hearing from them again unless it’s time to pay annual dues ! I said up to her

if they aren't offering health insurance at a good price and she can't make her mom an employee to collect that for her , I can't see where a owner operator would benefit at all from a union affiliation.

we have union cops and teachers can choose to be in a union if they want , but that is really the only unions in my area

Every union job I have worked alway had better pay, safety, benefits, and training than every non-union job I have had. Are they perfect far from it and not all unions are equal or the same but it's a much better living and when I retire I will be doing so debt free with over a couple million in assets. Not bad for a man raised by a single mother in government subsidized housing untill he was 12. Good paying union jobs will be a large part of the reasion why.

First and foremost to you and other butt heads. I’m not LIVING off ssdi Far from it ! If you call being able to live on 13,000 after taxes and insurance! I worked AND PAID IN for nearly 40 years to have the RIGHT to be eligible for those benefits!
As for Ky being among top states for disability claims pull your head out of your own bottom and look at the factors. Maybe it’s the type of work that us available in the state. The THOUSANDS of miners and other careers here take a toll. You also might look into the difference in SSDI and welfare.

I think it’s normal to “retire” here and have some sort of disability. Heck, they paying, might as well take advantage of it.

Don’t get me wrong jbuffet, anybody that can deer hunt and kill more deer than Davy Crockett, keep his yard mowed impeccably, add an addition on to his house, go bass fishing more than Bill Dance, set dog proof traps around a Kentucky Fried Chicken dumpster and still qualify for SSDI is my hero.
