I am wondering if anyone that uses canton musk in cat gland lure can give me an idea if I overdid it. For one quart of aged cat glands, two years, I added 1/4 ounce of canton. I’ve read somewhere it should be used sparingly in drops but, untested, this smells very promising to me. This was added in addition to the ambergris in the original cat gland lure. I went two other direction with other quarts and left one with just the ambergris per Mel Hershberger. I’ve made it for years and know it works.

Personally, I think Bobcats like Musky type smells!
I have used some lures that were pretty perfumy / musky smelling over the years with good results.
You might try taking some of your gland base material and add some beaver castor, otter, muskrat glands etc. Something to think about?

I have used otter and cat glands together in the past. I’ll be sure to give this one a good fair trial this winter.
