Thanks for the lasagna you dropped off the other day, sure was nice not cooking. Although I don't think I could cook anything just yet.

Pain is still off the charts, hoping it keeps coming down over the next week. The Dr almost kept me yesterday as my blood pressure was 65/40 after the hip replacement. Therapy came to the house today to whip me back into shape.

Thanks John

Heal soon and I would think Bob J. would be a top notch friend to make.

Hey man the first 10 days are the worst, just go ahead and embrace the suck. But, it does get better. Walk as much as you can. Wear your socks. And have enough ice packs available to ice whenever. Ice is your friend, lol! Pain hasn’t gone away yet, but it’s very manageable now. If you’re like me, just being at the house all day was painful enough!! It does get better, just follow Docs orders and be extremely nice to your PT…I think they all have a Sadistic side to them!! My therapy was 45min, then and hour, now an hour and a half.

It was day 13 before I could get dressed/undressed by myself, and that included those Godforsaken compression socks!!! I have about 4 more days I have to wear them, then I’m in the clear according to the Doc.

We bought Press and Seal to put over the bandage and medical taped it at the top for showers. That also helped to just get clean.

Don’t know what you’re experiencing, but I ran a fever 99-101 the first 7-8 days. Not sure if it was sugery related or not seeing how my son came down with Covid day 11, lol.

I agree and I also think we need to praise them here because CNN won't be giving them any kudos unless they are one of those "brave" trans freaks.

They put on a waterproof bandage , I can take it off at 7-10 days. I do have a bunch of the press and seal bandages for my dad. No swimming or baths before 30 days.

They didn't give me any compression socks, told me I didn't need em. Could you put your own sock on before the surgery?, I really struggled with my right foot as my hip was impingement.

Glad you are back home John. I know you have a rough road ahead for a while, but I am sure you will be back soon. If you need anything else that I can help you with, you know how to reach me. We have lots of food from the garden and the field on hand here. Doesn't take long to put something together for you and your dad. We will keep you in our prayers for good healing.

No, they gave me battery powered leg compression thingymajigs, lol. Got tired of wear those plugged into power when I slept and then having to get up to pee, lol. They told me if I wore compression socks then I could ditch those things. I could put on socks and tie my shoes before surgery, but definitely not afterwards! I even got extra large compression socks and those jokers left bruises on my legs at the top they were so tight, but it beat unplugging and plugging those leg compression sleeves. Seems like I was peeing every 3-4 hours because I couldn’t get enough water to drink. Like I said before a very painful weird first 10 days.

Prayers sent for healing. Ice and pain killers worked to keep the pain to a manageable level for me.
