Ground up hind quarters for a beaver, added 2ounces tincture of beaver castor, 2 tablespoons sodium Benzoate and 1 ounce glycerine packed in a quart mason jar, flipped the lid so gas could escape if needed, also ground up hind quarter of a road kill deer (yea was a,small deer and pretty messed up) added above ingredients and filled 3 quart jars. Plan on letting them sit in the sun for about 7- 10 days and curious if my first attempt at making lure is gonna be a boom or bust. Will be used for Bob cats in cage traps and martens in Marten boxes with Koro rat traps.
Thanks in advance for the replies

Normally sun rendering is a term used when using the heat from the sun to break down meat to separate the oil from the flesh like sun rendered fish oil or BTO. I think what your trying to do is taint or age your meat but since you have already add SB, a preservative it isn't going to age much. Maybe a day or three, just until the preservative fully kicks in. But it will probably still be a decent bait.

I would suggest moving it out of the Sun. Give it some shade, slow the process down a bit. You may need to add more SB.
When it has stabilized then you might want to add some other ingredients? Be sure to keep the flies out of the jars. Have Fun!
