The last hurricane, Ron D. and the sheriff, and other officers standing with him, did say directly, that looters run big risk of being shot by home owners.
I can vouch for that, being raised in that state. Folks don't take no mess.
Randall, Ocala is my favorite area out of the whole state. I showed horses in that town. It is a beautiful horse town that is like the Thoroughbred farms in KY.
FLA has a wonderful Governor who takes good care of the people. Sharon: Since they built the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, horse people from all over are moving here. It has really expanded our horse/owner population. WEC is like Disneyworld for horse owners. It’s beautiful. We can watch Olympic and European riders compete and go watch a western reining show. UF has a big vet clinic there, there’s a big luxury hotel and another under construction that will accommodate pets. There’s an rv park, gas station and a bunch of different restaurants. They have a school where kids that compete and train can continue their education while training. I hope you get to visit and see the home country some time soon! It is nice to see the tradition expanding and holding true to the area. Thank you for that update. Those horse folks will be vigilant in keeping that area beautiful and peaceful. No looting or vandalism will last long there. My father was born in Ocala. And I was privileged to grow up there , riding all over the complexes of farms . Randall, I managed a twenty horse station, equipped with live in apartments for the workers. Most all were imported warmblood hunter/jumper and dressage show horses. Worth millions. Imported from Germany, Ireland, England, France, Austria. The place was a mess when I was hired on as manager, the owners were fed up. I cleaned house, figuratively, and literally. I fired half the staff and hired good replacements. You could almost eat off the floors when I was done. It became a smoothly run, organized show barn , that later added on forty more stall sections. Amidst all those expensive show mounts, several who were winners in the Olympics, guess what my horse was ? A neat big 17 hand Appaloosa who ran the place all by himself, keeping the other horses in line, lol. One doesn't need to be worth money to be valued, and everyone loved him. I don't see myself going back to FLA any time soon, if ever, but if I do, Ocala will be my first stop. It is a beautiful countryside, horseman's dream place.

[/quote] Sharon when you go through Ocala you can tell right off that it is a Horse Community. The trails are perfect and one of the best we likes even had Hitch Rails and Troughs spaced around. Drive through Ocala and you see the Horse statues everywhere. We did not live in Ocala but in Ocklawaha but closer to Belleview. But the place has the best for Horses. If not for the Grandkids we intended to retire there sincemy wife has a lot of relatives in the area. As for DeSantis a lot of these Demonrat states could take a lesson from him.
God please keep they 19 fallen UBB miners out of trouble up there.

Seems like every week I'm falling behind one or more of those big fancy multistall horse trailers heading south on 75. Even mules I guess. Saw one yesterday all signed up with images of longears and the words on the tailgate said Stay Back, I can ride my own arse.

When we lived in Marion County outside of Ocala our whole neighborhood took turns partnering with our neighbors and we kept the neighborhood free of Looters. We just patrolled and we made sure they saw the Arms that we carried. You have to remember we were without electric and even cell service and literally on our own for days. We protected what was ours. What kind of a POS goes around trying to take advantage of the situation to Loot and steal?? If I seen people riding around with guns after a disaster I would see them as looters up to no good and shoot them . Trudeau would actually allow you to that?
