I stumbled upon a company supposenly making a number 8 double long spring. Seems like a pretty big trap, heavy duty. Now obviously it would be illegal to set for bear, but with the way things are going, I'm thinking if one had to catch a bear, either a problem bear or to have a good supply of meat and fat, in bad times, - , the number 8 offset with teeth may hold one.
Not sure, wondering what other people think, what the old new house number 5 dimensions were, current bear foot snare dimensions, etc.
All hypothetical, not planning on violating any game laws or bear, just something that got thrown out in my survival group.

Legit company and those #8 are wolf traps not bear.

Without a doubt the best built long spring traps being made today. Very similar to the old Newhouse traps.
