No worries with them smelling like Rubbermaid? I was actually thinking about putting them in a big cooler with one of those small ozone generators before I put them in the ground.

I buy the black and yellow totes at home Depot and never had a problem. If your worried wash them with clean water once.

How much scraping do I need to do? As long as there’s no globs of dried wax on the firing mechanism I thought I was good to go. [/quote]

It changes your pan tension, so much on those traps I couldn't tell you how much. Do one and test it both ways, I use my trappers hammer upside down to test.

Just where the two make contact, otherwise they have a mind of their own

Just use one of those hand held torches and burn off any wax on the dog and dog notch.

PM me and I will give you the address of where to dump them in Northeast Nebraska. Of course they will need to "age the Idaho odor" off so probably not need to check on them for 3-4 years. I'll keep you posted (LOL)...... the mike

It’s not a big tractor, it’s a 60 inch bucket. Anyway, it’s a mix of Duke 850’s, Bridger #3’s, some No BS wild Jr’s, Duke #2’s and some Montana #2’s. Targeting coyote, bobcats and wolf.

Nice… I have a couple totes but they are new this year and still smell like Rubbermaid. I’m guessing after a year that should all be fine tho. I’m thinking I’ll line them with pine, dump the traps in and leave the lids off.

… I ran them new first year I bought them … just load them up when you’re ready to put out a line … you can put pine needles in there if you want but it’s not necessary… heck the wax has smell anyway

LR5 you're worrying too much about the scent IMO.

I store mine in old milk crates. Pine needles and such have moisture in them, I don't care for storing the traps with them.

Looks like you did a nice job of prepping the traps!!
