Seeing as these are bolts, the CA probably wouldn’t tick off a fudd too bad. I’m trying to decide between this…

And this…

In 7RM.
There are some “black” rifles up here that people can use for hunting. Can’t be ARs, but look similar with different operating features. Not the most reliable and some are really ugly with the minimum length barrel. Not cheap either….but neither are the 2 pics above…lol

I shoot a flintlock and don't like inlines. I just don't get the appeal of an inline. Other than a special week-long season (PA) what is the advantage or point of owning one?

I've had nasty remarks made to me by traditional archers because I shot a crossbow.

I don't like tactical weapons in the field. I like blued steel and walnut.

I'm entitled to my opinions on anything I care to have an opinion about but I'm never going to tell anybody they can't hunt with whatever legal weapon they choose, or work to limit what folks can or cannot use.

I own and shoot flintlocks and tactical weapons and everything n between. I guess I don't qualify as a Fudd. Never liked that term, I think it's stupid.

if your wondering if your a fudd

ask if you invited someone to deer camp they said what gun should they bring you say a 308 or 30-06 that holds 3-5 rounds and will shoot 3 inches or better at 100 yards with a scope

you use a Remington 742 in 30-06 that loads from a 4 round magazine

if they show up with a Ruger SFAR in 308 with 20 inch barrel a 1-8 strike eagle and a pair of 5 round magazines and you flip out on them for what the heck is that thing

if you do that yup you get the fudd card

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Fyi unless your like the guy in the video and you walking around being a raging toxic jerk to anyone who doesn't think like you exactly then your not a fudd. You can totally be just the nice old dude who just likes a traditional gun and not a fan of the tactical stuff. Therers actually an entire counter culture in my generation who's like this. It's their thing.
But again when you being a ranging ignorant jerk 24/7 to anyone who does accept you view point as law then yeah your a fudd. Also alot of them really don't know that much about fire arms and are hazardous to the 2a community. Off saying crap like " no one needs and ar15 that's a weapon of war !!!" All thes "pro gun " political guys who hunt but don't want you to have anything past a bolt gun are prime examples of fudds.

So after reading all that you still think your a fudd well.....that's a personal problem whistle other wise stop trying to be a victim

My father is a Fudd. He adamantly opposes black rifles.

But in his defense his last experience with the black rifle was in 1967-68 Vietnam and he has since that time minded his own business so it's as much self imposed ignorance of current events as it is any sort of animus.

He and I have been at odds since childhood as I find the big picture view much more interesting than his parochial just what's in front of you one.

Here lately I kind of wish I had his sort of ignorance of the world around me.

I prefer nice bolt actions for hunting.

Black guns are my choice for fun, home defense, SHTF and hogs. I include some tactical bolt guns here.

I enjoy bolts and semis on the range.

As for Fudds, I should be able to buy full autos, grenade launchers and suppressors off the shelf.

I have 50 cal side lock percussion rifle . Have taken deer with it. Shot a lot of paper. Want a rifle like my ancestors used fighting the crown. I still enjoy braised squirrel made into gravy covering a plate of home made baking powder flour salt buttermilk and lard biscuits.
