How do your conservatives stack up you try to wrap your self in? That right thay all sell out while telling you it's for your own good.

Sad you seem to be one of those thar believe there is a difference between democrats and Republicans and fail to see t hay are owned and controlled by the same group. It's controlled opposition and keeps you a good little boy thinking you have a voice and in compliance in the system.

But we will get them in fhe next election. Right..

Funny how you always straw man and bait and switch but it's crickets whan your arguments get shut down.

Honestly I truly enjoy my job. I get paid to drive Tonka trucks like I played with in the sand box as a kid. Looking down on 18 wheelers and running over head Crain's.

What I don't like I'd the distance from my farm to work, a bunch of the unions bs face it nothing involving people is ever perfect and tha guy I worm with ever day is the most self centered lazy individual I have ever been around.. but I like the job enough to over look having to work with him or I would have transferred.

Seems ridiculous to me, but I'm not on the recieving end of that deal. As wages go up, be it minimum wage or union contracts, the price of the product produced goes up, and the buying power of the dollar earned goes down. It's kind of like chasing your tail. Putting away a million dollar nest egg sounds great until it takes 1.2 millon to survive.

Providence Farm do you work in a coal mine? I've always been awed by the distance you drive to work. Not much for unions in NE but I did make $10/hr in a union meat packing plant back in the day. I wish everyone could make union wages.

Not a chance I’d be building line for a private company. Too many guys came back with horror stories. The odd young guy goes after he gets his J status to make $5-10 more. They have no idea that that money doesn’t come close to what they really gave up…..but they learn.
As for tree maintenance along power lines? Do you expect your electricity provider to maintain the 10’ clearance along every distribution line on public/private property? And keep up with maintenance and new services?

Side note. Transmission lines are kept clear or Mb Hydro would be paying a heavy penalty for every MW we sent to Mn/Nd.

Wind Blew, crap flew, out came the line crew

Sound great. I'm sure the union job installing and maintaining the robots pays more. I installed some robots at the Princeton IN Toyota plant back when I used to union Ironwork. It paid $6 an hour more than the job I have now did when I changed jobs. But it was not as steady without traveling and at the time I lived 35 miles from the plant I work at.

Gary no I'm a heavy equipment operator at an aluminum plant. I used to live a lot closer to to the plant but when we found the deal we got on our farm after looking for land 5.5 years in 3 states we jumped on it. I thought since we would be moving to a more populated area like Louisville it wouldn't take me long to find an equivalent job.

Well after job hunting 6 years dozens of interviews and offers I turnd them all down becus none come close to Mt pay, benefit and benefits cost. I spens about 9 k a year going to work that far when adding gas and fast food. But even adding that savings to these job offers it does not come close. Not at a 60 to 80 k pay cut with 350$ more a month in insurance cost for much less coverage and higher deductibles. No pension and a much smaller 401k match. So I keep driving and staying there tell my work week is done.

So my Union job blows the doors off all the Jobs have put in for and been offered. I think the bathers just like working like a slave for very little compensation. It is sad I think to put people down that are doing well probably better than themselves. Myself I hope everyone is doing well and better than I am. Apparently that's not the case for the jealous guys on here.

Now I think I would enjoy working for the dnr at the forest 12 milscaway or the hwy department and be home ever day. But it to large a pay cut. But if I'm going to take a big cut it will be something like that that I would not mind doing but would actually enjoy.

But it’s not shocking given the relationship and culture of that industry. Most of what happens is a show for everyone. There’s lots of bantering and some true dislike at times but it’s still primarily a show that both sides are really just playing out. Many companies in other industries have done exactly as was thrown out earlier in this thread——bargained to impasse and then made moves from there including replacing workforce and shuttering plants. That’s not so much the case within US automotive. If you can take the emotion out and look from a distance many folks just might conclude that it’s really a pretty cozy relationship that they have. And in the context of how the industry has been bailed out by fed govt more than once it might even be best described as three way collusion making for great media hype fir the American public.

Customer has or had one we were pouring two quarts of oil a week in but it wasn't bad enough to qualify for repair.

I didn't know I was supposed to answer your question

I'ma guessing it's because people are still buying overpriced cars .....for now

And it would be a mess and a loss of production for awhile until they ironed out the kinks . Shareholders would be (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman)

That's the leverage the union will use to extort mas dinero

No doubt that the Hondas and Toyotas are higher priced. Not sure how much union status part much comes into equation. But definately companies operating on fairly different models of production supply, etc. There’s no shortage of people willingly spending more money for the foreign labeled models though so not sure overpriced is fully correct view. Capitalism at work. Get to buy what you want And more options for stock shareholders. Non-union or union it’s still working fir a wage. In grand scheme of things either way you might want to figure out the investing side of things as that’s gonna be what determines where you end up

It boils down too. I can afford to buy a union product and send your kids to college or I can buy non-union product and send my kids to college. Quality is a given. MD
