26' on my compound and a max of 28" on the his one. But from everyone I've talked to I don't really n Ed to worry about draw length as much with traditional ( I guess)

Do you think the compound will be the bow you use more in the future or do you think it’ll still be the recurve?

When you earnestly believe you can compensate for a lack of skill by doubling your efforts, there's no end to what you can't do.

Do you hunt from a tree stand with it?

I wish I'd seen this before you purchased . That said , there's nothing wrong with the Black Hunter/Galaxy series. But seeing as how I know you like to tinker, I would've recommended an ILF ( international limb fit). I purchased an inexpensive one after noticing all my current bows are discontinued , so if the limbs delaminate, they were just done. I love my ILF .

Nice bow. Is that considered becoming a FUDD now? Asking for a friend.

Right now probably the compound just because I'm more accurate with it but about to go to the bow shop again with the recurve.
Did the single target thing down on her suggested and seems I got it half way sighted in but I still suck. Only 28 yd and only managed to get one in the black smirk

Wolfie, I know folks that could shoot a fly off a paper plate, but certain target give them fits. Took my target to a guys house and we were shooting and I surprisingly shot way better than him. We went to the woods were he has a deer target set up and he can make a group of three hit where they’d be covered by a nickel. Something about a dot just throws him off.

And I’ll make a confession, I can’t hold and shoot. In other words if I try and hold on the dot I’ll never hit it even by accident. I start below the target and slowly raise it until I get the pin at the dot and release. I’ll nail it every time that way. With a deer I come up the back side of the leg and when I get to a certain point I release. Quartering away I pick the opposite leg and do the same. Just the way I started shootings as a kid I guess, unorthodox but it works for me.

And something else that helps. Leave your bow and arrows near your door. When you go to step out already have target placed and just shoot ONE arrow. Start close to build your confidence then keep going farther out once you get three on the dot in a row.
I never shoot deer past 40 max. Most of the time it’s 30 or below. BUT I’ll practice out to 70-80 for confidence. I may not hit “black” everytime, but I can get it in that outer black circle every time.
And there is such a thing as over shooting. When your groups start falling apart, it’s time to quit. Especially if you’ve been hitting.

Yeah I have a similar problem with group shooting with firearms. Peoel think I'm crazy when I tell them I'll get buck fever for a pice of paper with a dot on it but I'm extremely relaxed with live game. Would like to get some 3d targets to see but I think I've spent enough this month on archery laugh dont help the gf saw my recurve and bow she wants one.....shes blond as a bat though so not sure how well thats gonna work out grin
