Nonsense like this is all related to the assault on anything perceived as masculine.
This kind of thinking runs deeper than you would imagine. It manifests itself in many weird, and unexpected ways, even creeping into the minds of otherwise, rational thinking people.
Case in point, this may sound like a reach, but I think it is related.
I was at my friend Jon's house a couple of days ago. Still living at home are his two youngest high school age daughters (the last two out of seven girls). Jon's wife was out of town for the week getting one of the girls settled into her new school in Arizona. Jon's wife had left him with instructions to take his very mild mannered, two year old, male golden retriever into the vet to get neutered.
I stopped by for a visit, Jon informed me that he was getting Axel neutered in a couple of days. I asked him why, he didn't really know why, other than his wife had told him they should do it. I mentioned to Jon some of the negative aspects of neutering. I also told him that a mutual friend of ours has a female golden retriever that is currently "in heat", and that they are looking for a male for their dog to date a time or two. Jon thought this hook-up is a good idea. Now for the interesting part.
Jon's 17 year old daughter walks into the house and Jon announces to her that Axel is going to be a dad. Her reaction was one of shock and objection; "NO, mom says he has to get neutered on Wednesday, he can't be making puppies". The discussion went a little deeper, it was interesting to see that her general objection was with allowing a male to do male things. Jon and I both found this reaction very interesting and somewhat telling. His 15 year old daughter then walks in the door, and we run this same announcement by her. She had the exact same reaction as her older sister.
Jon's family is anything but "liberal", in fact they are on the opposite end of the spectrum. But after talking to the girls a bit, it is pretty obvious that they have fallen for some of the notion that maleness, masculinity, and guy things in general are bad.
It's not at all surprising that both the teacher and the principal in the "finger gun" case were both women.

I don't know how times I have heard this , a dog gets pregnant. Somehow it is always the male dog's fault. It takes 2 to tango. Equal responsibility.

The goal is not to punish little boys who are playing with pretend guns. The goal is to make children terrified of guns and gun violence and to make them see guns as unacceptable, so that when they are adults they will gladly vote to end their Second Amendment Rights.

Alabama may be red, but this happened in Jefferson County. Which is why my brother left Jeffcoed after twenty years as a principal for a private school. My mother taught as a Jeffcoed teacher for 38 years and was basically forced out for her Christian faith. I say forced out as both her parents taught or were daily involved with their schools up to the day they died. My uncle was a Jeffcoed principal and teacher, as was his wife, mother in law and daughter. My granny retired as a teacher from that system. Trust me I know that system, grew up in that system. It has long been a fight between the classroom teacher and downtown. In 1978 my mother successfully removed a head principal over a dispute between funding the library or the football team. She was the librarian. In the 90s my brother's career path was stymied from the start as the board instituted the unwritten and unspoken policy of no school headed by a local and any principal with community support got reassigned or pushed out and no long term tenure at any one school. Jefferson County as a whole has changed and after dad is gone I will have no ties to that county other than four graves.

Well did the dog get neutered? Did he get lucky first?

Well did the dog get neutered? Did he get lucky first? No he didn't get fixed. They had a first date yesterday, he was ready, but she wasn't quite in the mood yet, close though. I guess she's not a first date kind of girl. Will try again tomorrow.

He will be quicker and more excited to go on his car ride tomorrow and the next few months.
The lawyer is not asking for enough. The teacher and principal should be fired, legal fees paid and a nice check should go into the kids brokerage account.
