I can see I need to make another donation to the discretionary fund, no member here should have to resort to eating anchovies to be able to survive…

FWIW, fresh anchovies and fresh sardines taste totally different than canned :-)

My Italian friend made a sauce out of emulsified anchovies and I forget what else he added. We scooped the sauce up with cabbage leaves. Wow was that stuff good but I had a headache for 2 days from it- I think the salt overload got to me.
