Oh yeah, made a cool find in one of the walls. Not a golden goose but it did make me ponder how and when it got in the wall.

That’s what I miss during my construction years, the renos of old buildings. Some really cool finds. In the powerline industry now. While doing a stint in Winnipeg, I took a walk around Rosser Station. None of the local permanent staff would come down into the basement, they said it’s haunted by the guys who got fried down there. Found some old switching orders from the 1920s on top of a shelf covered in dust. Shoulda taken some home. And things were built way different back then. Marble spiral staircases, oak everywhere.

my Dad was a drywall contractor back in the days when Americans did the work.

I hung rock for too many years. I'll die a happy man if I never have to hang another sheet in my life.

Ceiling first, get a lift if its just on person, we hug 16' with 2 people.
Walls second, top sheet first pushed up against ceiling. Lower sheet second, make a jack out of a prybar to lift the sheet up while nail/screwing.

Screwing is best but use long enough screws so they don't strip out in the wood or you'll end up with "nail pops"

when finishing, 3 coats, should not have to sand between coats, one very light sanding to take off the laps before spraying.
