We just started picking concords around here. Processing Plants will be running around the clock for over a month.
My friends got about 600 acres to go and just started. 10,000's of acres here in WNY of just concords. Looking like a good crop in most areas but only time will tell.
I'll probably start making wine in a few weeks once the sugar content go up a bit more.

I've been selling seedless concords at our farmers market for the last 2 weeks. Brix is right at 24-25%! I sometimes make grape empanadas and all I do is stovetop these seedless concords and add some corn starch.

I made 40 quarts of grape juice. I used fredonia (sp)grapes they are a bit sweeter then the concord. Any one make grape juice that hasn't plucked the grapes off the stems?

If you use a grape steamer de-stemming the grapes is not necessary. The steam does not remove the bitter tannins out of the stems.
