I've used more Rachet Straps in the past but switched over to Chains and Binders for hauling my tractor around- any critiquing or do's and don'ts appreciated. I have (4) independent lockdown points on the trailer, and I make sure the handles of the binder bottom on the trailer, wrap excess chain and bungee it around the binder. Anything else I need to be cognizant of?

Those chain binders are definitely more reliable, it’s what we use to bind down dozers and logging equipment for haul. Occasionally when you get in a hurry you might run your adjustment out past the end of your threads and it’s kinda of a pain to get it threaded back in unless you unhook everything. Judging from your setup I doubt you will ever get in that much of a hurry. Other than that just keep an eye on the attachment points and you should be good.

Chain binders are definitely the way to go. I never take the additional time to secure the extra chain around the binder. I just wrap it and go. Never had an issue of it coming off.

Make sure you hook your chain like this. Not on the outside of the rub rail.

You already solved 90% of binder problems by buying a ratchet binder

That’s how I hook my chains Danny, I use 12,000 lb pocket stakes but just for redundancy not main chain points.
