I'm looking for an easy to use crossbow, something my wife could easily use unassisted. Trying to spend as little as I have to but as much as I need to to get a decent bow. Tried Google but results were all over, some of the cheaper ones with cranks had bad reviews regarding the cranks.

Appreciate any advice

Yep, wicked ridge. I have one for my son, rampage 360. and a newer 360 for my wife, Sons is 2 years old has a pull cord seperate from bow. Wifes has a cord on the stock, cant lose it! Sportsmans warehouse had the older ones on sale. Small and light but you can use then too.

This. I have owned three over the years and still have one in a box never opened. Great crossbows.

I have a older Ten Point and it is the easiest crossbow I have ever used. I've killed 5 does sitting in the same stand within minutes of each other with no issues.

I think it was Tim Meat Trapper on his podcast who highlighted how the traditional-bow version of the crossbow was smarter long-term than the "compound version" of the crossbow. Meaning, less stuff to break over time. I have been thinking about this.

Yes less to go wrong if you don't mind wide limbs sticking out. I bet the strings are cheaper though.

I was looking at geting a new ravin but the shot said the strings that come on it ate only good for a year/100 shots. The more expensive strings are good for 2 years. That equals 100$ a yard on strings either way. Then he said all x bows are that way. Maybe so but I have only replaced the strings on my mission 320 once or maybe twice in 10 years and it has worked flawlessly. So when I get another one it will be the same one I have and I won't need different bolts or parts.

O and i have had it 10 years and zero problems so not sure how much more a time frame Tim meat trapper is expecting to get out of an Excalibur vs a compound x bow? Mine is old I bet the newest faster one are pushing the capabilities of materials and may be more likely to fail. XI bows did this back in the 90s and their flatliner speed bow was known to blow up. My Xi legacy blew up on me after 6 years.

I use wasp jackhammer broadheads in my wifes crossbow. Expandable and the blades fold up sharp side in so i dont have to hear about it when she cuts herself. Took a bread bag tie and shaved the paper off it, tied it around blades to keep em closed to practice shoot. I never trust what the package says about shooting the same as field points.
Made in the USA also just like wicked ridge bows.

My friend had an excaliber recurve crossbow. Went to a 3d shoot and 10 targets in his string flew off. Sounded really bad.
