I have a goal to catch a coyote and bobcat this year as I have never in the past. How thick is the pipe insulation that folks are using for an underpad? I have found 1/2” and one inch thickness (has a foil backing).

Appreciate any help.

Found a YouTube video on them, looks like I need 1/2”.

I use the 1” thick stuff for sterling’s. The foil layer peels off easy, mark on a scrap board how wide you want the pieces and cut with a utility knife. Takes about 5 mins to cut the whole roll.

You can fold it to make it thicker, too. I use a lot of the pipe wrap early in season but it’s not water proof and after a rain and hard freeze it will be like a rock under your pan. Waxed dirt and a screen or waxed paper over the pan is what I use in late winter.
