The barn is going to be pushed into a pile and burned. We're doing trees on the site, piling brush beside the barn to help burn it. As much as I would love to dismantle the barn I'm booked out all fall, I can't mess around with it much.

The old bike is actually a homemade scooter, its definitely a "farm job", I may take it, I removed it from the loft and put it down there. If anyone local wants it they can have it. The memories that the barn had to hold must be immense, sad to see the place fall into such a state of disrepair. Really made me think a lot while out there.

I see endless possibilities: The money is in the beams and siding for sure!
Here's a couple mantles I did for my cabin:

We used the barn floor for car siding- I'm finishing this project for my daughter's basement currently

I have no idea what it might have been used for.

Eagleye, beautiful job and work you have done.

I want to build a small cabin on the original site of an old three room shack that has been there since the turn of the century.

I will use old wood for the wall with the full wall fireplace.

My wife and I used to watch an interesting show on the DIY network called Salvage Dawgs. They used to tear down old buildings and make or sell items from whatever they salvaged.

They were located in Roanoke, VA. I miss that show.

After watching Salvage Dawgs, based on the show, there's a lot of value in old, usable lumber like that.

I got the barrel out. I'm not sure how much to ask for it $$$, it's a cool piece but I have no use for it. I would like to take some of the other wood but time is against me, I'm not sure what it's worth but removing it would be a huge time sink.

I'm not going up there. It's pretty shot up, if it was clean it may be worth getting a lift in there but as is I don't think it's to valuable after someone put half a brick of .22 through it.

Looks like some dry rot on the bottom ? I have seen this type of thing used for décor in restaurants and breweries.

The wood is good but the metal band on bottom is about gone from the straw touching it.

Any idea what the tank is worth? Someone offered $300 I'm not to excited to sell it for that.
