Ok, so now I do everything online and am confused lol. I get that we check in online but it says in the regs we need a physical tag on the deer as well with the con# and what not. Is there a blank template I can have printed off to attach to the deer? I can't seem to find one. Thanks!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

I haven't hunted deer in a few years , so not sure.
Used to be a landowner would make his own tag , and call it in to get a tag number to put on it.
I remember there used to be a tag you could tear off the license and place on the deer , and call in to get a verification number.

I'm not real sure the system is working like they hoped.
Too easy for a bow hunter to just take the deer home and not call it in , if they process their own.
If you wanted to get jerky or trail bologna made , any friend that had a tag could let you use it.
Getting too hard to hunt in my area anymore, too many houses and less and less land to hunt.
Just make your own , as long as it's got your name on it ,time killed, and date , just call in .
I never did anything like that online except buy my license , and call it in.

We have met the enemy and the enemy is us!

Print your tags out before hunt . Kill deer, fill out either the permit. If you're taking it straight to a processor, use the app, call the DNR or got to a tagging place and check in the deer, write the number on your permit and you're done. If you take it home, you can check in the deer and print the confirmation out

Sniper, I just got the app and purchased my deer tags today along with my furtaker permit. I didn't see a copy of a deer tag that I could have printed off. Are they on there and I missed it?

Under the Licences and Game check tab, it will show your list of licenses. Click View on your deer tag. Top right of the screen will be a printer button.

If you have your phone setup to print to your home printer you can print directly from there. Or on your home computer for to the license website and print it out.

Couple years ago I hunted Ohio. I wrote my number they gave me when I called and registered my deer on a piece of a beer case I tore off and zip tied it to the deer. Processer said it was fine

and if you have any hope of that tag staying on the deer put it in a quart ziplock , roll it up and put a zip tie around the hock tendon or antler fold the rolled up bag around the zip tie and cinch it down tight maybe toss a second zip tie on over it if you have to drive highway speeds.

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

If you have a PC, check your email that you used on HuntOH and you should have a email from ODOW with your receipt. The "link" in the email should go directly to a printable version of the permits worst case is you have to login from your PC to the website and print the permits from there.

There is an option in the HuntOH app when you try to print as "Save as PDF". Then you can save that to your phone then email it to where you can print it

I just stuff it in its mouth.

I just stuff it in its mouth. We don't have to drag it through the woods without a tag. Only when it's left unattended, with a processor in your freezer do you need it tagged here.

Thanks Sniper! I somehow figured how to pull it up on my phone, do a screen shot, then email it to myself lol. Now I can send it to get printed off.
