Also have two Newhouse 114s in great shape very strong and complete. $150 ea

Also two Newhouse 14s very strong in great shape and complete $75 ea.

Take any or all.

Thanks for all the interest. The guys did take them so they are sold.
Wish I had a dozen of each could of sold them all.

Back when Newhouse was going out of business my trapping buddy/ mentor here told me he was buying a Newhouse 4 1/2 New and they were $50 each ! he even got the setting clamps with it. He asked if I wanted to order any, I laughed and said no way. Not for $50 for one trap !

I was never known for my business savvy.

About 40 or 50 years ago I bumped into an old guy who had a 55 gallon drum full of NH 114's for sale. I got as many as I could, for $40 each! But in addition, I got some priceless advice from that trapper who was catching 10-20 wolves a year with legholds (a real rarity in those days.)

I asked him what his secret was. He said "Put the trap where the wolf is going to step...!" I laughed at the time. A few years later I came to realize that it was terrific advice... What he meant was that I would be more successful by learning enough about wolf behavior to anticipate where any wolf or wolves were going to go on their own.

This of course is more effective than using a bunch of lure and urine to try and "force" wolves to go somewhere they would not ordinarily go! Or cramming a bunch of "guide sticks" into a trail.

Once I accepted this rather elementary concept, I started catching more wolves!

Pete

Once I figured this out and was more diligent on keeping things scent free I started connecting, excellent advice.
