You can use dish soap for leather lube,but dont get any on the fur
Soap is often mixed with brains to braintan buckskin.
You can use egg yolk also,or a combination of the two
Or you can get neatsfoot oil
I have used 2 stroke mixing oil before,but dont reccomend it.It smells and stains the leather.
Vegetable oil doesnt work but lard does.
