Neighbor brought over some cooked puff balls yesterday. Never had any before they were really good. I'm not much of a mushroom guy but I liked those.

I just slice them and fry them in butter with garlic

He had some kind of breading on them. He gave me half Of a raw one . And I just sliced It up and fried It In butter and then I froze all Of It.

Not the ones your thinking of Boco. These are as big as volley balls and are pure white and solid like that all the way through.

By the middle of winter they will be a ball of gray powdery stuff.

You better find out what breading your buddy used since that is all the flavor you get from them. The mushroom itself is basically flavorless. We walk right on by them around here, unless we decide to punt them. That's fun too.
