really 120gr of black is not a huge charge , there must be some real wimps out there keyboard commando-ing it up

I have a few rifles that I use black powder, they are a lot of fun to shoot. Shot a few deer with my 50-90, never recovered a bullet they go right on through!

I recovered one 410gr conical from my 50cal muzzle loader , the load on that was 90gr

it was getting close to last light good size doe popped out of the brush then down a trial at about 40 yards it stopped turned to look back at me

now my goal was back of the neck , well it fell a touch lower than intended and base of the tail it ran up about 9 inches of spine then started down through and I found it under the skin at the front of 3 broken ribs on the left side

it had gone the entire length of the deer and started with a bunch of bone

didn't break the gut , took out lungs , deer fell kicked it's front legs once like it was trying to get up and expired not a drop of blood
didn't even ruin the back straps it was right up the middle

bullet almost turned inside out on it's self it was a big flat mass of mangled lead.

Not worth the band width unless you have shot one yourself

I actually built a 45-120 Shiloh Sharpes for muzzle loader season years ago. It's a fun gun and it's so heavy it.s really easy on the shoulder even with modern powder.

My cousin was big into shooting that cal.
