We can probably all agree that quality of fox urine varies from vendor to vendor. What has your experience been, and which merchant would you recommend for good quality, fresh, foxy smelling urine?

Is there a reason you are setting footholds where the deer are? Have you been to Wisconsin?- That's pretty much anywhere you're going to make a set.

Lee Reuwsaat- I only use Bobcat Urine, even in my yote sets, my experience over the years with fox urine is -I get too many deer pull-outs in my area when using fox. 100% accurate! Fox urine is a deer magnet. From the comments some you northern guys would go absolutely insane attempting to set every “trail” then spending the next several days just resetting everything because of the deer, lol. I’m guessing Hobbie Trapper was being sarcastic, lol. If not, he’s really in for a fun time if he ever comes South!!

I’m not. If I’m setting trails, it’s snares. Deer walk past them predators walk through them. Get away from the trails/woods with the footholds. Give a predator a reason to investigate an open space and it will. Deer couldn’t care less, so they won’t go there.

Can’t use snares down here, but if you could you’d have them knocked down daily. Every trail is a deer trail. Every road is a deer trail. It doesn’t matter if it’s wide open, thick woods, or swamp…if there’s a trail here, deer made it. Stay away from fox urine and you’re ok. About the only thing they don’t investigate much is straight bait down a deep hole. Add lure or urine and they’re checking it out.

Some states, such as mine, it's illegal to set a snare for anything other than beavers.
John 14:6 Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

there's not a safe (from deer stomps) spot in all of PA. Not fields, not highways, not Pittsburgh, not Philadelphia...
