Been a slow start for me. Just a couple coons, not the numbers I was expecting. There's quite a bit of standing corn left around me. We'll stick it out a few days and then reset some other places.
Add: But enough to test out my new fleshing knife and beam from Badgerland Trapping Supply. Worked great for me.

I have been doing some nuisance beaver trapping, not planning to land trap this year.

What brand did you buy K snow? I got the necker 600 knife. Been using an old knife made from a scythe blade since I started 15 years ago, wanted to try something new. Not used to having a sharp side, but it sure makes the shoulder a heck of a lot easier. I want to get some practice in before I get to any coyote, fox or otter this year. I bought the wall mount beam support from Badgerland and one of their boards. Really easy to install, and I like being able to remove the board easily.

I've caught 2 coyotes so far. I don't have many sets out due to a back injury I had a week ago. Went to the chiropractor twice now so I should be on the mend soon. Real slow start for me.

Bear, They always look like they're ok when alive but as soon as they're stretched and dry they look flat. The coon are the same way. It's just too early but they need to be removed. I'd prefer to catch them around mid-November but I'm not interested in hauling around dry or waxed dirt for $5 to $10 coyote and dealing with frozen ground, etc.

I get that thinking of putting some sets out but waiting till at least this weekend. Chomping at the bit for sure. Have a bobcat tag so really focussing on that first. Have lots of coyotes to thin out for sure. Good luck filling your cat tag.

I have a cat tag as well and looking forward to finally being able to harvest one. I've caught 6, I've had to release, the past 3 years but never had a tag. Seems to be a lot of them in my part of the State. Time to go check traps. Looks like I'll have some frost this morning. Good luck today guys/gals.

I am waiting for rats to open up. A young trapper stopped by that drew a cat tag and l gave him a bucket of waxed dirt, some lure and bait to try, along with my limited knowledge of cat trapping. He also has 2 fisher tags so should have some action. Tight chains!

We had a nice, calm frosty night here and the fur moved. I caught 4 coyote, 2 coon, 1 skunk and 1 possum. I also had some misses which I'm fine with. The coon aren't prime yet if anyone's interested. I had a decent sized boar and a smaller coon. The boar was close to prime.

Put out some colony traps today on my ADC rat line. I snuck up on a feeding rat today and brained It. I'll get it dried up and let you know how the fur looks. Found a active beaver den In one park and will set that up with a snare tomorrow. Got to live trap It.
