My little league coach's kids had pet possums, raccoons, skunks, etc, 50+ years ago.
Loved going over their house, he had TONS of mounts too, elk, mulies, antelope, guy was a hunting machine

My ex had one as a pet, honestly preferred to cats. Littler box train them and they basically just sleep ,walk around every now and then and yeah. Groom themselves a lot too

Raised 4 pups several years back they each had their own little quirks.

ol man that lived very much poorly by choice next to the farm I helped on as a kid had pet skunks that had the stink removed. he loved getting them out of cages an handling them🤢nope not for me. a pet grinner is even worse.

I'd say

My Dad had a pet skunk.Always wanted to lay on your lap and get petted.

In states where it's legal, you can make times more selling an odd colored catch to the pet trade, for breeding stock, then the fur. Baby, common colored furbearers sell well too. There's some huge breeders/distrubutors of furbearers in Florida and Texas, that likely sell well into 7 figures a year.
