I haven’t decided how dumb I am yet…

I am just going to be dumb close to the road in problem spots. I had plans to haul the little boat to the lake today but I am too old and broken to bust ice all day anymore.

I have been beating my head against the door all day trying to decide. Got a few problems areas but am afraid they will be froze up in a couple days. Caught a few coon in the last couple of days but think that is going to end also.

That is where I am at too. The forecast doesn't get above freezing until Wednesday and even then it is only 34. Lows 18-20 each night so it is going to freeze up quick. I am going to run a few sets but I am certainly not going to go wild. I really, really struggled to convince myself to go at all and fight the weather.

I’m all loaded up to hit a river property in the morning.

I'm gonna try and catch a beaver later on after they get a better coat.
1) to get even for stopping up my spillway and cutting saplings
2) add a tanned beaver to my collection of furs caught on my place

From Wisconsin but my truck is loaded with traps also. Just remember the water temperature will be warmer than the air, if it's any consolation. LOL. Just turned 74 years old and don't want to miss out on all the fun tomorrow!

I floated in the middle of a lake in the Boundary Waters for over an hour about 10 years ago and the water is NOT very warm! I swear my feet haven't been warm since that day. All 3 of us are lucky to be alive.

Lefty, the weather we are experiencing would chuck Texas down for a week lol

Rob, looking at traps now and wondering why I did not make waxed dirt when it was frikkenn 95 this summer?

Getting up early to start waxing coyote and coon traps. Got a couple buckets of dry sifted dirt I need to wax too.

You ain't DUMB.
you do know - well it's not gonna be as productive as you'd like but..., it still an itch that need to be scratched.

I've sat in trees bowhunting at _25* in an all out blizzard.
Went on a 500 miles to call coyotes in _35* temps, bowhunted deer/ bear in 90+* temps.
But, the itch was scratched.
Be safe but do it.
