Simple pleasures:

1. smell of fresh-fired shotshell
2. dogs at my feet
3. fresh backstrap
4. look on my wife's face when she just won another game of cribbage
5. smell of muskrat lure
6. rod tip wiggling
7. full gas tank
8. the sound of quail calling in the yard
9. full woodshed
10. no discarded beer cans along the road
11. no fleas on a harvested marten/coyote/bobcat
12. crackling fire

Smell of fresh dirt in spring
The sound of ducks wings just before sunrise

Sunrise and the first bird songs of the day while in the deer stand.

Heavy hoof steps in the leaves coming towards your deer stand.

Thunderous gobbles on a spring morning.

The way a horse smells in the spring.
The excitement of a child who finally get something that the were trying to do.
The way freash cut hay smells.
When your kids recognize you for the things you've done.

Getting boats, motors, mowers, tillers, etc. winterized and put away for the winter is a good feeling. Getting them out again in the spring is an even better feeling.

A big stack of nicely finished beaver pelts and all the great days it represents.

The smell of newly baled hay. And the sight of the square bales neatly stacked in the barn

Wet dog, skunk, decaying leaves, drying furs, fresh mowed hay, diesel engine exhaust in the morning. To me they are all great smells that usually bring back good memories and usually make me smile.

My granddaughter calling me Puppa instead of Papa

The taste of black pepper in that first bowl of squirrel and dumplings on a cold winter day.

As long as your #$$%%^^&*(# brother didn't borrow without asking and then at least put them back, but without re-winterizing them!

The smell of the marsh and willow leaves on your duck blind.
The smell of a wet dog, and the noise a Beagle makes on the line.
How a dog's head feels in your lap on the way home.
That bouncy dizzy feeling you get after a long day of fishing.
