I found this beaver run and set up on it hoping it doesn't freeze up. The lodge is huge but on the neighbors property. Hope to talk to them tomorrow.

Yes they are! This one was a toad and I was worried about it pulling the BAD apart but it was still completely closed. I am sure glad this one was close to the road.

Got permission and Loki and I went to check it out. My chanel set was frozen in like I expected. Only 6"-8" deep so too shallow to do much with it for now. Checked out the new property and struck gold!

Loki stayed in the truck while I put out a few sets. Difficult to do this time of year but I'm creative so hope to pick up a few before total freeze up. I was told the park ranger wants to thin the beaver population too so I might stop by the park this afternoon and have a talk with him.

It's going to warm up a little towards the end of the week 20's for lows and freezing or slightly above.So on Wed I might put 2 mink sets on the back side of a beaver dam,MTA tanned fur project needs a couple of mink,it's been about 3 years since I trapped any mink,so I think it's time.

As of this morning a couple sets still working. 1 beaver from yesterday and 1 today in the same set and one DP that wasn't froze up yet. Looks like maybe one night or two and the beaver set might be done. Moved a froze up 330 to some moving water in hopes a otter shows up.

Couldn't help myself. Check the three sets I made this morning and caught two while a third was swimming around letting me know their disapproval. Put out a forth set in hope I have more skinning to do tomorrow.
